Freedom Writers Diaries

Hi guys! It been a while since my last post.. I had been very busy preparing myself for my mid-term exam and sports day.. Well, recently my English teacher showed us a movie entitled " Freedom Writers Diaries". This movie is about a new teacher name Erin Gruwell changed her students live.. The country that she was teaching is full of corrupted people. What I mean is people tend to be a prejudice, stereotyping person. Her actions left an impact on the students and changed their lives forever.

The part when the others showed prejudice is when Erin Gruwell tried to borrow books from school for her students. However, she not allow to do so because her students reading scores were too low and said that they will only destroy the book if they were lend the books to them. Thus, she worked part time jobs until her husband decided to divorce with her. This does not stop her from doing her part as a teacher. She continued to work part time jobs to afford a field trip for them to know the outside world.

At first, Erin Gruwell' students showed a sign of stereotype towards their teacher. When a group of students saw their teacher has a different skin colour, they immediately show sign of dissatisfied towards her. When Erin Gruwell asked them what the problem, they answered how the white people bullied them.

Other than that, the students also had to go though "war" everyday. Their races caused them to fight everyday, to show them who the most powerful race. Their parents told them to defend and fight for their own people no matter what happened. They were just teenagers and they had to fight for their lives every single day. However, Erin Gruwell broke the ties. She made the class to play a game called the "Line". She asked them questions and whoever had experience those event had to step on the line. This made them to control themselves when different races who fight everyday had to stop fighting.

Lastly, I hope more people will watch this movie or u can read the book. This really gave me an inspiration to treat people fairly and better. So, until next time!! Neko :)
